Novetool ("we", "us", or "our") designs lightweight native utility applications for macOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with our website (novetool.com) and our products, including Renamely.
Our guiding principle is simple: your files stay on your device. Renamely performs all file processing locally on your Mac. We do not collect, upload, transmit, or read the contents of your files.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect telemetry, analytics pings, or crash reports tied to identifiable users.
- We do not collect the contents, names, or metadata of files processed by Renamely.
- We do not maintain user accounts, profiles, or server-side identifiers.
- Renamely does not run as a background daemon or persistent process.
Information We Collect
Website visits
Our website is a static site served over HTTPS. We do not deploy first-party analytics, advertising trackers, fingerprinting scripts, or third-party tracking pixels. Standard server logs (if any) are managed by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) under their privacy terms.
Purchases and payments
When you purchase a Renamely license, payment data is collected and processed directly by our merchant of record, Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"). Paddle handles billing, tax, invoicing, and refund administration on our behalf. For App Store purchases, payment is handled by Apple under their own privacy policy.
- We do not see or store your full payment card details.
- Paddle shares with us only the information needed to deliver your license key and respond to support requests (typically your name, email, and license identifier).
- Payment data is handled under Paddle's Privacy Policy.
License activation
Activating a purchased license happens entirely inside the Renamely app. The license key is validated locally against an offline-compatible check; we do not require you to create an online account. App Store purchases are tied to your Apple ID and require no separate activation.
How We Use Information
We use the limited information we receive (purchase confirmation and email) solely to:
- Deliver your license key and purchase confirmation.
- Respond to your direct support requests.
- Comply with applicable legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Children's Privacy
Our products and website are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information we hold about you. Because we collect very little personal information, most requests simply involve removing your purchase record — please contact us using the details below.
Data Security
Renamely is designed so that sensitive file contents never leave your device. Our website is served over HTTPS with HSTS enforced by Cloudflare. Payment data security is governed by Paddle's PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure, or by Apple's secure payment system for App Store purchases.
International Transfers
Because we do not collect or store user files, international data transfer concerns are limited to the payment data handled by Paddle. Paddle operates regional data handling consistent with GDPR and applicable data protection laws.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through our website or product update notes.
